GBM?: Gbm has a grave prognosis despite surgery radiation, or chemotherapy. It is the most common primary brain tumor. Perhaps she might consider entering/enrolling into a gbm treatment study?

Treatments exist: Depending on the type of brain tumor there are several treatments beyond surgery. Is this a metastasis that's spread from another primary, like breast or lung? Or is this indeed a primary tumor arising in the brain tissue. While it's unlikely that any treatment will result in "cure." treament with radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy may well improve survival and quality of life.

Terminal: A stage 4 brain tumor doesn't always mean no treatment. Depending on your sister in law's condition, age, presentation like being able to care for herself, or cognitive function can all be factors affecting her survival. Ask an oncologist for chemotherapy and radiation therapy possibilities- they can increase survival time but not cure. Best of luck to her.
