I had a colon resection surgery one year ago diagnosed stage 1 colon cancer. i still have bouts of chronic diarrhea. is this due to the surgery?

Depends: Diarrhea after colon resection can be related to removing a large amount of the colon. Try increasing your fiber to 25 to 35 g daily. This usually helps bind up some of the extra water in the stool. Sometimes other medications are needed as well. Contact your physician if you continue to have problems.
