Low salt: If you reduce you intake of salt some of the water weight will go away. However, it you have "water weight" you should consult your doctor to determine the cause and have proper treatment. Please keep in mind that it may not be water weight but fat.

Salt restriction: Just don't use as much sodium. It's in every product that's preprepared, like canned soups and meats. Anything in a box, bottle, can, or jar, and frozen entre's - they all have sodium salts as preservatives.
