Not directly: Abortion does not cause infertility directly. However, one of the methods for abortion is a suction currettage, which has the risk of causing scarring or adhesions in the uterine cavity, which may contribute to infertility. This risk however, is low.

Infertility: Not necessarily, but multiple abortion may cause scar tissue inside the uterus and potentially cause difficulty in subsequently pregnancy.

Absolutely NO: The idea that suction abortion causes uterine scarring has long been found to be false. Uterine scarring has happeded in postpartum (after delivery) curretting especially in the presence of infection. Should a patient have a pre-existing bacterial infection does increase concern but all patients are pre-treated with antibiotics prior to surgery minimizing infection to nearly zero.
