Pain: Pain is an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience associated with actual and potential tissue damage. 40% of patient with chronic pain may have some underlying psychosocial trauma that directly impacts the experience of a unpleassant stimulus. For these individuals psychotherapy helps modulate the emotions associated with the pain that in turn improves tolerance to painful stimulus.

Several: Biofeedback and talk therapy both have value. I would suggest their use as a part of a multimodal approach not in isolation.
