Urinating after Sex : Hi, great question. The benefit of emptying your bladder after intercourse is to reduce risk of bladder infection, by essentially "flushing" out any bacteria that may have entered the urethra during sex. This does not reduce the risk of std's or pregnancy. Abstinence or condom's are the only relative protection from std's or pregnancy.

No!: The semen can be in the upper vagina and swim up through the cervix, the uterus, the fallopian tubes and find the egg. All this is situated much above where the urine comes out so will not be able to flush much of the semen away. Please don't count on this for birth control or you will likely get pregnant.
