A member asked:

Is curcumin effective in treating breast cancer?

4 doctors weighed in across 2 answers

NO: Curcumin (turmeric) is a spice that is reported as having anti-inflammatory properties. I have read a few studies that have looked into the possible anti-cancer properties of curcumin but in pancreatic cancer. Best treatment for breast cancer is a combination of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and hormonal therapy when indicated. Talk to your oncologist for best plan of treatment in your case.

No it is not: There is a lot of non scientific press claining the virtues of curcumin. It has not shown any convincing benefit in treating any of the human cancers so far. This includes breast cancer as well. But it has been looked into but the results are not all that convincing so far.
