Sugar bugs: Make it a game and fun. Lets get the sugar bugs so they don't eat your teeth. Lets sneak up on the sugar bugs..Wait there is one got him. My son still loves that game and he is seven and he has had no cavities. Try to brush for 5 min once a day. Keep it light and fun and you will both be rewarded.

Be persistent: As a parent, i know full well that it is easy to give a pass on brushing when it's bedtime. But try not to ever make exceptions. Part of brushing teeth is to make it a routine and a habit.

You must do it: You are going to have to be responsible to do it until they are old enough to be responsible for it.

Patience : Correctly brushing one's teeth is a fairly complex personal hygiene skill that even adults have difficulty doing well. Stay with your child in the process and be patient, he will get it well enough soon enough and will ensure his good dental and overall health for a lifetime!
