Try for 6-12 months: It may take a longer to conceive because you're not ovulating regularly, but your fertility should be high at 18. Irregular cycles can be due to polycystic ovarian sydrome (pcos), thyroid or prolactin hormone issues, aging of the ovary, or low hormone levels from exercise, eating disorders, stress. See a reproductive endocrinologist for tests / treatment if not prego after 6 - 12 months of trying.
