Could be: Stress, hormonal or medication related. If your periods ate usually regular i would watch this and see if your usual period comes on time. If it doesn't, the light bleeding continues, or you develop other symptoms such as unprovoked pain, sin during or after intercourse or bleeding after intercourse see your physician.

Ovulation?: The estrogen level drops a bit at ovulation and sometimes that can cause bleeding. Ovulation is about 2 weeks before menses, so this is the most likely cause. You could have another issue like polyps, or cervical spotting. The spotting is harmless and you should not worry. If it recurs then you might see your physician. Best wishes.
