Vimova: Vimova is a combination drug that contains over the counter Naproxen or Aleve plus a proton pump inhibitor or nexium (esomeprazole). Naproxen like most all non steroidal anti inflammatories act to inhibit inflammation but also to decrease protection in stomach to stomach acid. The use of magnesium may cause side effects of nausea and diarrhea more readily due to the presence of magnesium in the proton pump inh.
