A member asked:

What are the rare conditions, other than allergies, that may cause ige levels to be over 400?

Dr. James Fox answered

Eczema, asthma, etc.: In clinical practice allergic rhinitis, eczema and asthma are the most common reasons for elevated ige. Parasitic infections can cause an increase in ige, and it can also be elevated in certain immune deficiencies, such as hyper-ige syndrome. Allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis is a rare cause.
