Root Canal: Endodontics is the dental specialty dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, teaching and researching root canal care. Root canal infections are problems that occur when bacteria invades the tooth through decay, periodontal disease, trauma or anachoresis. This infection may be painful or not. If not treated it may result in the loss of the tooth. Most common symptom is lingering pain to temperature.
