Can acupuncture treat cataracts?

No: There is no relation ship between acupuncture and cataract improvement. Cataract surgery is terrific and the results wonderful. See your ophthalmologist and get rid of this nuisance and stop looking for alternative solutions proven not to work.

No: It can't. Only glasses or contact lenses can overcome a mild change in one's refraction with mild cataract progression. In more moderate to severe cases, cataract surgery is required.

Cataracts: I am not aware of any studies that have proven that cataracts can be treated with acupuncture.

No protocols.: Acupuncture has been used for conditions like astigmatism, conjunctivitis, glaucoma, myopia, styes, blurred vision and irritation but i can find no protocols for cataracts. If you have cataracts or other visual problems please see your opathamologist. He or she can recommend the best course of action and let you know whether or not acupuncture treatment might be helpful.
