NO SMOKING: Avoiding tobacco , avoiding toxic lung injury exposures including certain occupations. Also regular exercise and diet. Unfortunately the most common cause of pulmonary fibrosis is idiopathic or familial about which you can do very little.

Not much: Don't smoke, avoid exposures (dust, fumes, coal etc), adhere to a healthy lifestyle. No specific medication, herb or diet has ever proven conclusively to prevent pulmonary fibrosis.
