A 34-year-old member asked:
my mom just had parotidectomy surgery, what can i do to help?

Keep her comfortable: Parotid surgery can range in painfulness and pain control is one of the most important things after any surgery. You can regularly check with her throughout the day and ask her to rate her pain on a 1 to 10 scale and see if she needs pain medication.

Help: Just support her. Help in any way you can. Help her with any questions she may have with her doctors if necessary and inquire about what she needs to do to get better. Most patients do very well after this operation. If it is for a cancer ask about what comes next regarding any additional treatment. You know your mother better than anyone else. Do what you think you need to do.

A 46-year-old female asked:
Would you do surgery if you had C3 to C7 bulgingdiscand with 9mm narrowing of the central canal with my doctor wants to fuse one not all.

Dr. Bahman Omrani answered

C/S fusion : Findings on a cervical spine MRI alone may not be enough to determine if surgery is or is not needed. Rather, the combination of findings on mri, failure of conservative treatment, degree and progression of symptoms, as well as objective evidence of neurological compromise are used in determining if surgery is the best option.

How'd you get them?: "cure" depends on whether the original cause for hemorrhoids persists. Have you been straining at stool, have rectal dysfunction, perform an activity that increases pelvic engorgement with blood or increases pelvic pressure (heavy lifting, prolonged sitting, etc.)? Lots to consider here but it sounds like you're trying to postpone the inevitable if interventional methods short of surgery failed.
