No: Those with a standard trisomy have the abnormality in every cell of their body. The vast majority will die within the first year from one of many major congenital abnormalities with this defect.

No cure: Only 5 to 10% of children with Edwards Syndrome (Trisomy 18) live past 12 months Many are provided with palliative care. They may be fed through a nasogastric tube or gastrostomy. Oxygen therapy is sometimes given through a tracheostomy or breathing may require a ventilator. Surgical correction may be done depending on abnormalities.
