See below: It would be unlikely for a child this age to have environmental allergies. They normally emerge around 2 years of age. I would not recommend any medications.

Saline wash better: Most kids at that age have ot developed any true airborn allergies but will respond with identical symptoms to the dust/pollen/irritants in the air.A good nasal wash out with saline nose wash similar to what adults do with a netty pot does more to relieve their symptoms. Antihistamines just thicken their buggers.
