See a doctor: He needs to see a doctor right away. These are not normal findings. You have to be concerned about internal bleeding with the history of black stools, other things such as pepto-bismol can also cause this. If he is feeling week, dizzy, and looking pale it can be a sign of blood loss and i would go to urgent care or the emergency room.

GI bleed: I suspect your husband is hemorrhaging from an ulcer in a meckel's diverticulum due to ectopic gastric mucosa in the structure. It has also reopened the omphalomesenteric duct. He needs to be seen now.
