Breast reduction: The pros of the bilateral breast reduction is the loss of the breast weight pulling on your chest and the loss of neck and back pain associated with large breasts. It is a very satifying procedure for most patients. The cons are as follows: you could lose some sensation in your nipple/areolar complex, there are scars involved, there is always a possibility of scars or infection.

Many: Breast reduction is one of the most patient pleasing operations performed. Pros include improvement of neck/back/shoulder discomfort, improvement of bra strap grooving/posture and/or improvements with skin breakdown/rashes/infections. Downside include scarring, potential for loss of nipple/areola sensation or ability to breast-feed, and other “standard” risks associated with surgery.

Many pros: Woman who seek breast reduction are pleased with the shape and size of their new breasts. They note less neck, back and breast pain or it may be totally gone. The clothing selection has expanded for them and they have a much better self image. The cons are typical of any surgery: infection, bleeding, scarring, discomfort and a period of healing or inactivity. The pros win out.
