Yes: An arterial ultrasound is a noninvasive screening test to check for blocked arteries. Another noninvasive technique is a ct angiogram. However, the "gold standard" is a formal angiogram.

Yes: Unless you are found to have significant decrease in blood flow by ultrasound, or if you have an ulcer or wound, an invasive test is not necessary. Duplex, mra, and cta can all assess blood flow, but only the duplex will give hemodynamic information (blood pressures). A vascular surgeon can best assess whether you need any additional testing other than exam and ultrasound (duplex).

Yes: The simplest and least invasive option is to have abi/pvr. This is a noninvasive test that measures the blood pressure of the arms and compares it to the pressure in various parts of the legs. This along with the waveforms will give your vascular surgeon an excellent idea of where a blockage may be located.
