Somewhat: It might bring you relief if your having pain, you need to go see a hand surgeon or facial plastic surgeon if it is on face or hand. Good luck.

Not realy: To cure a sebaceous cyst it needs to be destroyed completely or removed completely. The best way is surgical excision.

A 35-year-old member asked:

If I have cysts, can I breastfeed?

Dr. Megan Bird
Obstetrics and Gynecology 19 years experience
Yes: Cysts are benign, which means they are not cancerous or going to hurt you in the long run. They can get large during pregnancy however. Cysts by themselves won't prevent you from breastfeeding. If they are large and near the nipple, they may make it more difficult. You can talk to your doctor or lactation specialist about how to get around that.

Is a Bartholin's cyst something to be concerned about?

Dr. Elizabeth Chmelik
Specializes in Family Medicine
No: This type of cyst can form when the opening of the duct gets clogged. It is usually not life-threatening, however if over 40, you should be evaluated for possible underlying cancer. If the cyst becomes infected, it can be very painful and may drain on its own. There is a relatively quick procedure that can be done in your doctor's office to help drain the cyst and allow the area to heal.
