Dandruff: Dandruff is seborrheic dermatitis of the scalp. Its cause is unknown. Remedies include a selenium sulfide or ketoconazole shampoo with or without a high-potency topical corticosteroid. The shampoo can be used daily to 2-3x/week until remission is achieved. After resolution, the use of the shampoo once a week may be helpful to prevent recurrence.
