Sex and timing: It takes the average couple 6 months to a year to get pregnant. Optimal time to have sex is the day prior and the day of ovulation. Having sex prior to ovulation is also important as sperm older than 72 hours has decreased capacity to impregnate. Discuss timing with your ob/gyn to optimize your chances of getting pregnant.
