Probable allergy: It sounds like you may have had had an allergic reaction to something in the wax or something applied to your skin after the wax. I would try putting 1% Hydrocortisone cream, available over the counter, on the area twice a day. I would not put anything else on it. Sometimes when people are in this situation, their good intentions wind up making things worse. If not better, contact your md.
