What is the difference in fees for a midwife to deliver a baby at a hospital, vs. a ob/gyn?

Usually the Same: Your out of pocket costs will be the same. Most insurance companies only pay a set amount regardless of who does a delivery. Most midwives only get hospital or l&d privileges if they are affiliated with an OB so they usually make less but the patient rarely knows how the delivery fee is divided up. Then there are hospital fees, anesthesia fees (if needed), & supply charges. It can be extensive.
