It is unclear...: Maca (lepidium meyenii) is a root plant used as a food and for medicinal purposes. Maca is also known as "peruvian ginseng" because as a folk remedy it is supposed to increase stamina, energy, & sexual function. Because maca has not been extensively studied, it is best not to use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding--because it is not known if it is harmful or not to the unborn or growing baby.

Unknown: As with most herbals, there is little if any evidence that it is either safe or hazardous to take during pregnancy. The general rule for any medication is to avoid it during pregnancy unless it is clearly necessary and beneficial, then only the minimal effective dose for the shortest possible period of time.
