Not for attack: Diverticulosis-presence of pockets in colon wall: chronic, no symptoms; rx: high fiber diet, seeds, nuts generally ok. Diverticulitis: acute inflammation, infection/swelling. Rx: antibiotics, no fiber, increasing over time (7-10 days). Oils, fried, greasy foods best avoided during that time. Discuss w/md, but simple foods increasing as situation improves.
