Kidney pain: Kidney pain is usually caused when something stretches or irritates the capsule surrounding the kidney. So stones, infection, obstruction can all cause kidney pain. However, it needs to be evaluated by a physician. Back pain can also occur around the kidney area, which is much more common.

Kidney pain: Answer by dr cherullo copied kidney pain is caused classically because of distension or stretching of the renal capsule. This happens with blockages (stones) and infection most commonly. A kidney stone not causing blockage or simple cystitis (uti without kidney involvement) does not typically cause pain. So please be certain it is related to kidney.
