OCP Use: I'm sorry you didn't get a better explanation. Most birth control pills are started with menses to help coordinate cycle control. With the lower dose pills, you have to take them at the same time each day and you should have been told to use a back up method for at least the first 2 weeks (condoms or abstain) to prevent pregnancy. Some recommend for the first month just to be safe. Take care.
