A member asked:

I have little bumps on my chest, could these be herpes? i do have genital herpes could i have spread it to my chest?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely : Herpes generally attaches to moist areas like mouth, genitalia, eyes - although it is rarely seen on the finger and other areas. If there is a pattern of sores seen intermittently - in the same area- and you are concerned- your dr. Can do a culture of these areas with a swab. This test is accurate - assuming there is enough virus on the swab. Genital herpes is very very common - unlikely on chest.
