Maybe/Maybe Not: A child's pulse-ox screen will only be low if there is "blue" blood making it out to the body. In the first few hours of life, the resistance in the lungs is still high and may cause blue blood to flow across the asd. This is relatively unlikely though, and so most times the pulse ox screen would not detect an asd.
