Wow!: There are multiple causes for paralysis, including trauma, tumors, infections, toxins, multiple sclerosis, muscle diseases , degenerative diseases, spinal cord compressions, etc. They did not provide me enough space for explanations of how to treat all of these conditions, but you might request that I do a several hour lecture.

Complex issue: Paralysis means lack of muscle function. This can involve any of the muscles of the body. A paralysis of breathing must be treated by a breathing machine. Paralysis of swallowing may involve gastrostomy. Paralysis of the hands may need total assistance for daily function. Paralysis of the legs may involve use of wheelchair or braces. Paralysis of the bladder may involve urine catheters.
