Fever, bleeding??: It's miserable to see your child go through this. Tylenol (acetaminophen) doesn't help as much as one would hope. Sometimes, tylenol (acetaminophen) with Codeine is prescribed which helps more. Make sure the tylenol (acetaminophen) dose is adequate: 10-15 mg/kg/dose up to every 4 hours. The otc bottles usually underdose. Check with your doctor about your child's dose. If febrile or bleeding, please contact ENT asap. Ear pain may be referred.

Pain control: You should ask your surgeon but ear pain, throat pain are typical of the recovery from tonsil surgery. Many surgeons will place their patients on tylenol (acetaminophen) and/or Ibuprofen for pain relief. You should check with your surgeon to determine what they think is best in this case.
