Muscle pain: Jaw muscle pain is the most common cause of face/ear pain. Other causes include inflammation of the jaw joint/s, headache disorders, salivary gland disease, and ear infections. Some medical illnesses can also exhibit jaw and ear pain. Try warm compresses over the jaws, antylenol or advil (ibuprofen). Consult an orofacial pain dentist if the pain has been on going for more than few weeks.
