Gum recession: Yes, there are ways to treat receded gums. First you want to determine the cause, which may often be a problem with your bite. There are procedures specifically connective tissue grafting that takes a little piece of gum tissue from the roof of your mouth and places it over he area where the gum is receding. Usually a specialist, ( periodontist) will do the procedure, some general dentist as well.

Yes: Talk to a periodontist about tissue grafting. This is where a small area of soft tissue is taken from your palate and placed over the compromised area. The periodontist can tell you whether you are a candidate for a successful procedure.
