Several: Creakiness in a joint can be a bony abnormality, fluid build up, or soft tissue injury such as tendinous or ligamentous. Maintain your activity, ice the joint if it's hot or sore, and occasionally Acetaminophen or an NSAID could be used for pain. Creakiness typically goes away though.

Sports and overuse: Sprains and strains of ligaments and tendons as well as arthritis can cause creaking in your wrist joints. Overuse type injuries can also contribute to joint creaking. Splinting the joint for part of the day can promote better healing along with proper exercise , nutrition and avoiding smoking ( it decreases blood flow to the injured area)
