Tests: Simple blood tests with your doctor would tell if there is jaundice or something of concern. How long ago was his surgery? If the surgery was recent, then further testing and seeing your doctor or surgeon is very appropriate. Nothing specific to worry about at this time. If the surgery was recent, the doctors will check for bile duct issues such as stone or blockage or leak.

Get More Info!: First confirm that there is jaundice. If yes, determine the cause there could be a stone in the common bile duct or a stricture of the duct. Jaundice without pain is a more worrisome symptom as concerns possible tumor. Worrying doesn't help, knowledge does. Ct or ultrasound scan may be the next step if jaundice is confirmed.
