Maybe: You will probably have permanent marks on your skin from previous damage. You should focus on preventing any further skin damage from acne by getting evaluated by a dermatologist soon.

Bacteria: Acne is caused by hormonal changes and bacteria on the skin. There is excess oil production. The oil gets trapped under the skin gets infected. Over the counter products with benzoyl peroxide reduce bacteria. Prescription medications such as retin a, (tretinoin) tazorac and differin help prevent the pores from getting blocked. When the pimples heals there can be scarring and pigment changes (dark spots).
