Cryptic tonsils: Sounds like you might have cryptic tonsils. Some people have tonsils that have crevices which can trap food and other debris. This debris can cause discomfort. We usually recommend aggressive gargling. If the pain persists, you should see your physician to confirm the diagnosis. They may then send you to an ears/nose/throat doctor for consultation.
