A member asked:

I have a ruptured disc on my lower back what can i do to get rid of the numbness on the back of my right leg down the bottom of my foot?

Deal with the back!: Your symptom may be due to impingement of the nerve root off the spine by the herniated disc. If left untreated, it may never go away or in fact worsen.

Abdominal strength : 1st get a full neuro exam by doctor. If you do not need emergency surgery for spine issue begin tightening your abdominal muscles. That often relieves the symptoms over time. Gentle small movement crunches or straight leg raises or okay, but go slow and pay attention. If things worsen get rechecked by doc. Time almost always handles this. Be patient. Don't rush to surgery unless told urgent by doc.
