Sharp pain, aching: Tendonitis pain is usually sharp and gets worse when you use the muscles attached to the inflamed tendons. For example, in tennis elbow, the worst thing you can do is lift something heavy in a palm-down position (like lifting a suitcase with one hand off the ground away from your body).

Start with RICE: Tendonitis (inflammed tendon) commonly results from overuse. In order to treat the pain, i recommend you start with rice, oral/ topical/ injected anti-inflammatories, follow with stretching/ strengthening (therapy), & consider couterforce bracing. Massage may also help. If these treatments fail you may be a candidate for cortisone or prp injections. Few people end up needing surgery.
