Oral antifungals: This can be managed with mouthwashing using topical antifungals. The problem is that normal adults do not usually get thrush unless they are diabetic, on antibiotics, steroids, or have some impairment of their immune system. Any adult needing treatment for thrush or having difficulty clearing it should be tested for HIV among other things.

Where is the thrush?: If it is oral thrush, you can use Mycelex (clotrimazole) troughes or Nystatin liquid medication to treat. However, the underlying cause of the thrush will need to be treated. For example, if you are diabetic then the blood sugar levels if uncontrolled will need to be managed by your md.
