14days before period: The fixed (predictable) interval is the amount of time after ovulation until the period starts. If you know your cycle length (# of days from start of period to start of next), you calculate the day you ovulate by subtracting 14 from that #. For example, if your cycle length is 30 days, you ovulate on cycle day 16 (30-14=16). Ovulation would occur 16 days after your period begins.
