Depends: Ovulation typically takes place 14 days prior to the menstrual cycle. Therefore, in a 28 day cycle, ovulation usually happens at approximately day 14. In women who have cycles greater than 28 days, ovulation will take place later than day 14. In women with cycles shorter than 28 days, ovulation will take place earlier than day 14.

Day 14 but it varies: In an idealized 28-day cycle ovulation occurs 14 days after the first day (cd 14) of the last mentrual period. In real life, most of us have seen apparently normal ovulations between day 11 and maybe 15-16. For women with regular but longer cycles, let's use 35 days as an example, best guess is usually 35-14= cycle-day 21. With irregular cycles, there is no general reliable rule of thumb.

In general...: In a 28 day cycle with a typical period lasting 5 days and ovulation occurring on the 14th day, one should expect to ovulate 9 days after your period is complete. All the best!

Ovulation : Ovulation occurs consistently about 14 days before your next cycle. If you know how many days there are from the first day of the bleeding to the next during your normal cycle just subtract 14 days. This allows you to predict when you should be ovulating.

How long is the ...: Menstrual cycle? Figure out how many days between day one of menses until day 1 of the next. An egg is released (ovulation) approximately 2 weeks (range 10-16 days) before the 1st day of the next menses. For example, if the cycle is 28 days (4 weeks) long, then ovulation should occur around day 14, or 2 weeks before day 1 of the next menses.

No: Exact answer. Most people ovulate 14 days before their periods start. Sometimes extenuating circumstances throw it off. Extreme sexual arousal for example can cause ovulation at almost any time.

In the mid -cycle: Ovulation physiologically occur in mid-cycle i.e. 2 weeks with 28 days regular period. To be more precise you may check your rectal temperature with termometer. Time of ovulation is associated with slight increase of your rectal temp compared to baseline.
