Is it possible for a child to live with edwards syndrome?

Life is relative: Probably the majority of conceptions with this chromosome pattern will terminate early in pregnancy. Those that are born have a limited lifespan. Approximately 30% die by the end of the first month & 50% by the end of the 2nd. By a year about 10% remain with major medical & developmental problems.

Survival: According to the nih, half the babies born with trisomy 18 do not survive past the first week or so of life. Some children affected have survived in to the teen age years.
