How can eyelashes damage my eyes?

Ingrowth can scratch: If eyelashes are ingrown (trichiasis), they can scratch the corneas, causing damage. Epilation is only temporary. Electrolysis is effective 75% of the time with 1 treatment, and nearly 100% with multiple treatments.

Infection: The ingrown eyelash can constantly scratch the eye making it susceptible to infection in that area. The chronic scratching can also cause scaring of the cornea, affecting the vision.
