None: If the ovaries are left behind, no hormone replacement is necessary as they are still producing estrogen. After moenopause, only estrogen will be needed if desired to treat symptoms.

No need: If the ovaries have been left behind after a hysterectomy in a woman before menopause, there is no need to replace hormones, because the ovaries will still provide all hormones. Because of the surgery a woman may experience hotflashes for up to 8 weeks, after which things are usually back to normal.
