left side of stomach hurts when pressure is added to it, why? it kind of throbs a little here and there. it started about three days ago.

See physician: Many possibilities! that's why need to see doctor. Needs to know what makes it worse, would makes it better, exactly where it hurts. Does it interfere with or wake you from sleep. In that area are the stomach, left kidney, part of large intestine & the spleen. Can be from strained abdominal muscles.Upper left sided- stomach-stop spicy foods, caffeine, & alcohol. Lower- colon. Constipated-laxative.

Muscle sprain?: Muscle sprain would be the most common cause of this. If it doesn't get better with otc pain relievers, get yourself checked!

Check in: With a family physician. Though ulcer disease is a possibility, it is better to make sure there are no other physical findings to go along with the pulsing pain.
