Research supports...: Yes, sexual activity can be a stress reliever. There are immediate benefits to sex, to include the release of physiological and sometimes emotional tension. Additionally, there are long term benefits to an active sex life, to include overall increased physical activity and adding years to one's life. Unfortunately, this research is based on sexual intercourse and not masturbation.
